Shoes.

today, i found out i already had this addiction to poetry. i often write myself, but i love reading even more.

Poetry is linked to so many things i believe: the way you speak, the way you think, maybe even the way you dress, the way you'd like to bring your thoughts into someone else's head.

my boyfriend once wrote me a poem. Boy, was that cute!

after all this profound talking about poetry and thoughts on life, a shallower aspect of life has to be present as well. Back to thé very point in life: Shoes.

Shoe [shoo]: An external covering for the human foot, usually of leather and consisting of a more or less stiff or heavy sole and a lighter upper part ending a short distance above, at, or below the ankle.

ooh i love a little poetry after supper

The art of losing isn't hard to master, so many things seem filled with the intent
to be lost that their loss is no disaster.

Lose something every day.
Accept the fluster of lost door keys, the hour badly spent.
The art of losing isn't hard to master.

Then practice losing farther, losing faster:
places, and names, and where it was you meant to travel.
None of these will bring disaster.

I lost my mother's watch. And look! my last, or next-to-last, of three loved houses went.
The art of losing isn't hard to master.

I lost two cities, lovely ones.
And, vaster, some realms I owned, two rivers, a continent.
I miss them, but it wasn't a disaster.

Even losing you (the joking voice, a gesture I love) I shan't have lied.
It's evident the art of losing is not too hard to master though it may look like (Write it!) like disaster.

in which noah lives a rainy day

oh yuck, just look outside... all that water!
and all this decibel from my neighbour-kid playing on his drums -which i'd approve of if he could júst make it sound like it was supposed to sound like this-

rain kind of gets me down, i'm having autumn break now. I've visited my aunt in Germany for a few days, very boring really since she doesn't live very near to a big city. i did buy a new iPod since my Touch was cracked and i bought an amazing 'dad's shirt' in white with amazing blue stripes.
i think i'll pair it with my brown 'gentlemen shoes', a thin brown leather waistbelt and some black shorts and tight. i can see myself roaming around it that alright...

so i think i'm going to spend my day very boringly: on my own, with my computer probably downloading a lot of music like i already have the past days. do you ever have those days on which you just prefer to be by yourself? i don't know, maybe i'm just crazy.
so over the last days i have downloaded a lot of music from Plain White T's. i already had some songs by them, but now i have a lot and... i like!
i have also downloaded like 30 songs from Keane, which i didn't really have a thing for at first, but i absolutely love it now, so they have been playing my iTunes all morning already.
also, my friend Sophie told me to download music from Jack Johnson. i kind of only knew this song Sitting, Waiting, Wishing, which i kind of liked. I haven't listened to any other of this songs -i've got 42 now- but i will soon. If there's anything noticable i will let you know.
x N.

ps. i'm sorry i haven't posted lately. My aunt didn't have internet 'cause it got stuck or something, so i have been excluded from the outside-world. and for now i don't really feel like browsing the entire internet looking for nice pictures/pieces of clothing/things to write about.
pps. check out the MUSIC FOR MY VICTIMS (>>>) column. it has one of Keane's many great songs, Again&Again.
ppps. -this is the last one- does anybody know how to put a musicvideo directly on your blog without having to direct someone to youtube or anything like that.

let's move to a moroccan palace

i LOVE moroccan iteriors (and exteriors!) . i think i'll add some morcco-inspired details to my future NYC 'lofty penthouse' like Daria's
x N.

yay and nay (or at least not so much)

today was rugby-day! you cannot believe what my o-so comfortable adidas sweatpants looked like...

lets say they morfed from this grayish colour to a somewhat brownish colour. Fingers crossed the washing machine gets this out

so when it comes to this blog's title:
i guess yay to e.g. pictures above and nay to anyone who tries to blend in with the hurd. There's something i really hate about people who are always doing this.
i must say that sometimes i catch myself redhanded -at least not sur le plan fashion- and it gets me awfully frustrated

what also gets me frustrated: cameras that somehow don't work -which won't be a problem if you don't lose 'em afterwards so you can't do anything but get a new one. That's why i have no pictures posted and my friends usb-cable for her camera (which appears not to be like any other of those cords) has also vanished from the face of the earth so now we're stuck with no pictures.
first thing planned for tomorrow: asking my boyfriends camera and not planning on giving it back any time soon so lots and lots of cool pictures can be taken.

ps. in case you're wondering...: No, i haven't caught up with my maths homework and most importantly, understanding the crap. However, i háve managed to escape my 'punishment' that consisted of banning from any social contact besides going to school. oh well, that was overreacting, but lets say it wasn't fun, but not to worry anymore!

if it looks and smells like nothing, maybe it is nothing

yay me! i scored a 3,2 (out of 10) on my maths test. So now i'm kind of tied to making my maths homework ALL THE TIME, which is like... a lot. Luckily i've already found out what to score the next test (bigger!) to be sufficient again and it's only 6,4 or something
i guess scoring 8,2 and 9,7 for English doesn't really help your sucky maths mark

see y'all when i've caught up with all of the homework -and until i understand everything, that might take up most of my absence from social life-, until then my mum bans me from computer/television. I don't even get to see my boyfriend that often anymore!

when i grow up i want to be a ballerina

studiebeurs turned out to be not that boring after all. we did have quite a good impression about different options. mine are now -sort of- narrowed down:
- fashion designer/fashion business, and if i'd do so, i'd definitely go abroad because although Holland is putting itself out there when it comes to fashion, we're still very tiny in this universe. So my options for now would be either INSTITUTO MARANGONI, preferably in Milano or a school of arts in Colombus, America.
(any recommendations in this area?)
- or, something very different like Biomedical Sciences -don't know if it's an english word...- or i want to be a 'patholoog anatoom'. Don't know the english word, but this would be the one cutting people open after they've kind of died. I could be doing this in Rotterdam, Leiden or Amsterdam to my choice, but somehwere else (USF, UCLA, USC, etc.) wouldn't hurt me.

before i get caught up in all of this i still have quite some years ahead of me to think about what i want to do.

for all i know, i dó want my home to be similar to this:
a sort of lofty kind of penthouse with brick walls, a fireplace and an old oven in my kitchen. with lots of beautiful textures and comfy sofa's.

Girls, get inspired by Daria's home...

ps. cool pictures were taken @studiebeurs, still got to get a hold of them.

fall lovin'

yes yes, i don't know about your climate-situation, but summer is definitely over for me. But fall lovin' instead of the notorious summer lovin', to me, is a perfectly applicable subsitute.

especially when is comes to this beauty:

ps. will show my life-large pen collection(...yay) after tomorrows awfully boring day. the only thing i'm kind of curious about is studies outside my incredibly annoying little country

back already

ok, well... i'm back. this is too much fun and somehow i seem to have some spare time already carefully put aside when i plan my entire day. somehow this is one of those moments i don't have to do anything -well, homework is always an option, but an option that is eliminated until the last possible minute-

yesterday (when i seemed to have time to do anything i wanted to, because it was friday) i went to Rotterdam.

at the Bijenkorf they had the 'Drie Dwaze Dagen'* where they say they have many things for less money. But, somehow they got me fooled because most of it was still for the normal price. Anyhow i bought very cute gloves-without-fingers, -i don't know what you call those in English, but they're called wanten in Dutch- by 55DSL. and a really fun wintercoat by MbyM, a Danish brand i had heard of before but had never seen anywhere, until i ran into this coat at Shopper.

ps. going away until sunday evening, see y'all!

goo-by for now

well, i'm really sorry for the people who liked reading my pieces -or the people that even took the time to read it, although it can't be many-
BUT, i'm like só busy with schoolwork and keeping up with my friends and boyfriend also costs me time outside of all that of course, so i won't have any time to post anything. let alone watch tv -which i barely do already-

so bye...
